I had heard great things about cafe sobar, but was underwhelmed after eating here. I had ordered the jackfruit panini, but was first a thunfisch panini that I obviously sent back directly. when the right meal came, it was okay, but nothing amazing. I asked if they had any vegan mayo and they got me the big tuber from the kitchen, but it seemed to have gone out. However, there are many vegan options on the menu so hopefully they are tastier.
There were many vegan and vegetarian options, the staff was very friendly. I have a student discount, so this is a plus. they can have free water (tap.) not too expensive
For £7.95 you will get 1 watery mushrooms, deep fried tasteless tofu, chili diceed kartoffels that we bland again and it lacks chili and a puppy game of inconspicuous wild spinat. the side of the toast came with butter.
Lovely warm and sunny cafe in an old banking hall, with plenty of space and friendly staff. Decent vegan menu of burgers, wraps, falafel and cooked vegan breakfast. Some options have veggie/vegan variations so always specify at the counter. Soya milk available for lattes etc. One vegan cake (they showed me the ingredients) but it isn’t labelled as such.
