Valley Bar at Barnham Broom - Norwich

We came for afternoon tea the lady who was waiting on us was also behind the bar … she was called Lilly . She was grumpy …. Unhelpful and not very accommodating. We received our hot drinks only because we asked again for them …. (The food was lovely)…. On finishing our food we decided to head outside for a while … we came back in and waited by the bar to pay … the same lady took our money … didn’t ask if we enjoyed ourselves … would we come back nothing … on walking to the exit another member of staff stopped us … while she was holding someone else’s dinner and said have you paid … do you have a bill to pay?? I said excuse me but do we look like we would walk out and not pay?? That is not somthing we would do… but we obviously looked like we were not good enough in her eyes to even be in the place … she was an older member of staff and I wish I had got her name …. She came across very single minded and classish… you should never judge a book by its cover …. I may not dress to her standard but I come from a very respected family and my dad has an OBE… I never would of considered your hotel to have this outlook on people and I don’t condone the fact that you employ such staff!… I expected more and I also would appreciate somthing being done as me and my friends spent a lot of money there that day to leave with such an awful departure. If you can restore my faith in your company I would like to see how! Untill tnem I will be taking my friends elsewhere and we tell all about the judgemental staff you employ.

An absolutely stunning couple of days, thank you. We ate, drank, swam, had massages and just a fantastic break. The food wqs incredible, and everyone is so friendly. Ryan Gotts is worth a special mention. An absolute credit to Barnham Broom

Such a lovely place. So so easy to book by telephoning the Hotel’s Main Reception. We were made to feel welcome by the front of house staff from the off, even accommodating our request to sit near the window. The food was exceptional, mains were beautifully presented and just the right amount served. Perfect in every way! Desserts were the same. All praise to the lady chef!! Julie must get a HUGE mention, she was exceptional in the service she gave to us on both evenings we ate there, really friendly, taking the time to chat about the area and championing The Brasserie. Well done, we will be back

The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in and shown to our table that the waiter had chosen for us which was a lovely booth tucked away in a quaint corner of the restaurant the atmosphere was lovely and even though it was a busy evening you could still hear yourself speak. Then the food arrived and it was amazing along with the wine and our waitress was a joy and was very friendly and joined in with the banter which was very pleasant. Would recommend to anyone

I decided to surprise my daughter and take her for a deluxe spa break . We couldn’t fault the afternoon tea and massages at the spa these were brilliant . We were very excited about our evening meal but left feeling very deflated . On arrival no staff told us what we could have with our package, we received the wrong drinks menu. After around 20 minutes someone finally came over and asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered and asked for tap water too . One of the drinks arrived but the water and other one never did so we had to find a young bar man who was rushing about and ask him . He was lovely and went and got them for us . After a long time of waiting bread and something in a little pot was plonked on our table , no explanation what it was , we thought we had got someone else’s starter . Finally we ordered our starters it was lovely but no spoon for my daughters soup so again we had to search for staff , plates took absolutely ages to be collected, mains came finally after 1.5 hours. It was lovely but the atmosphere was bad as other customers were getting fed up of waiting too. Finally got dessert and after we finished we sat patiently waiting for our plates to be taken and bill given ,as a lot on the menu which we liked you had to pay extra for .I thought this was ridiculous thinking back how much this break had cost me . After staff walking past us and ignoring us and the empty plates I had had enough and went to find someone to put it on our room bill . This experience was not the lovely bday treat I had expected for my daughters 21st disappointing is an understatement!!!
