The staff were good friendly but when I was asked which type of tea I wanted they suggested breakfast tea i said so long as it’s strong both members of staff said o yes definitely! But I left it in the pot to brew for ages but couldn’t get any strength at all, I tried stirring it but it was very weak not enjoyable. The food was very good nice that you can pick from a selection of food for afternoon tea but you can only have one filling for the sandwich one scone either sweet or savoury one huge piece of cake, so although the food was good I prefer a selection of finger sandwiches, a mini savoury sweet scone two or three mini cakes which is usual for an afternoon tea elsewhere. Prices were ok. Nice atmosphere got quite busy.
Have been here multiple times and each time a similar thing had a occurred. Went as a big table, 8 of us and the place was empty, we asked if there was a table for us and they said no, but we asked if we could sit on the tables that were separate and they said yes, bit strange. But oh well. Another occasion we visited as a 4, and sat in the back, the staff had told some people waiting for a table that we were nearly finished, (we still had a full pot of tea and we’re still eating cakes! so for the remainder of our visit the people waiting for our table were staring at us, this made us leave early and not happy about this either. Cakes are excellent, but the service is really not great and this lets down the place. It comes across that no one wants to serve you. A table of 8 when you are empty is some good cash for the tills, so I don’t quite understand why they wouldn’t want that. The fact that I have visited a few times (for the concept and with different family members and had a similar event happen each time, is a real put off to me visiting again I am local.
Came here for an afternoon tea after hearing it is the place to go . It was ok we waited quite a while to be seen to; while eating for our food we not once asked if everything was ok or if we wanted anymore tea or coffee . The staff didn’t seem like they really wanted to be there . I wouldn’t rant and rave about it
Biddys tea room was banging ,we got an afternoon tea, with fruit scone, cheese scone, carrot cake and a Biscoff blondie with chicken and stuffing sandwich aswell as hummus, avocado ,balsamic carrot sandwhich, all was delicious ,highly rate the food, even the scones was warm. Me and my other half were struggling with what cake to order as there was loads of choice.we asked are server pip what she would recommend ,and she recommended the carrot cake ,I wasn’t sure if I would like the orange icing so she went out of her way to let me try a bit so I would know if I liked it.the staff were lovely and would highly recommend to a friend and big up our waitress pip, their blonde colleague with the funky glasses was also really lovely : .
Biddy's Cafe, located on Lower Goat Lane, is a fantastic spot for lunch or tea. They offer delicious homemade cakes, sandwiches served in china cups, and a variety of teas. The sandwiches were freshly made and very tasty, and the pot of tea was much appreciated. The 1920's background music was a nice touch, adding to the cozy atmosphere without being too loud. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the overall experience enjoyable. I will definitely be returning to Biddy's Cafe in the future.
