I was in the mood for a burger, and the smoky aroma from the barbecue outside really tempted us to try the Brisket Burger. I'm glad we did because it was delicious! The only downside was that the blue cheese sauce didn't have much flavor—more like liquid cheese—but it was still tasty. The decor has a charming old-school vibe, and the service was friendly enough. The wine selection is impressive, and the view is lovely on a clear day. The outdoor area downstairs is quite beautiful and would be a great spot to dine, although I believe it's now designated as a smoking area. We also used our entertainment book, which never disappoints!
I had an amazing meal at The Scenic Hotel this afternoon. The ravioli with goat cheese, prosciutto, and arugula was simply spectacular. The service was friendly, the wine selection was great, and it’s a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I will definitely return in the near future.
The dish arrives on a bed of crispy potato straws alongside expertly cooked onion rings. I highly recommend adding the steamed vegetables, which pair perfectly with the kangaroo. Skip the entrée and dessert; the portion sizes are generous, and you'll want to savor every bite of your main course. We enjoyed a delightful Cab Shiraz Merlot blend from Penny's Hill (McLaren Vale), which complemented the magnificent kangaroo steak perfectly. A great meal can easily be overshadowed by poor ambiance or service, but that’s not the case at the Scenic Hotel. We dined on their balcony, enjoying enchanting views of the Adelaide Plains while being attended to by staff who seemed to have graduated with top marks in hospitality. If you’re looking for a romantic and enchanting night out, this is definitely the place to be. P.S. Did you know that kangaroo meat is rich in iron, high in protein, and contains zero cholesterol?
Imagine reading a novel about a couple escaping the urban jungle for bendy country roads in the hills, driving slowly and enjoying life. They start feeling hungry and as they do they stumble across an idyllic hotel with scenic views and a decent wine list. They relax, they order, they enjoy. Now, be part of your own story at the Scenic Hotel.
A Nice City Escape. We dined on a Saturday night, and it looked looked like a full house. We decided on a Duck Pie and Black Bean Polenta (One of several vegetarian choices gluten free) which were both great and arrived in good time. An interesting selection of wine both glass and bottle. (tried an Adelaide Hills Black Bishop Sauvignon Blanc followed with the same in a Barossa Shiraz, both very enjoyable). She who must be obeyed loved the home-made cherry pie with vanilla creme anglaise. Service was friendly without being pushy, overall a very nice evening.
