Our dessert (crème brûlée) tasted like scrambled eggs. Our server was pleasant but forgetful. For the price of our entire meal, including a bottle of wine, we should have had amazing food and service. The overall experience was lacking.
Hyde Park food and service were great! In particular, we were very happy that Hyde Park agreed to go off the menu and fix a special dish, Steak Diane, for us.
My rating is on the food - not on my server. The steak mignon was absolutely divine and the potatoes had to live! The best steak I cost! We hope that the cook would have visited our table, but it was wishful thinking! The staff signed a card that wished my husband a happy birthday... super sweet! Our server was pleasant until I drew attention to her that she spoke about our food. She was not polite in the sense of our food and gave us our food with her fingers near our food and our food. She basically ignored me. I guess she didn't know I treated my husband for dinner.
That was a very nice experience. The food was delicious! My friend and I shared the Duroc thick cut bacon. It was melt perfect in your mouth. Next came my paprika and her lobster bisque. I loved how her soup came in a mini tournament. She ordered the fillet with roasted garlic and I ordered the Steak Harvwell with the addition of petite lobster tail. Both were cooked to a perfect medium rarely. Our sites were garlic potatoes and potatoes Gruyère Gratin. The desserts sounded good, but we were too full to pamper us. I'd definitely go back. Very good steakhouse!
Our entire experience at Hyde Park was excellent. The food is some of the best. Our waiter Jack was great. The manager Louis Johnson is very busy with the daily operation. Very nice guy, very committed and upside down. Very clean inviting environment and we will definitely be back.
