Sun Warkworth - Northumberland

I visited the Castle Brew House for dinner with family members and unfortunately, the experience was marred by a grumpy and unwelcoming barman. Right from the beginning, he seemed overwhelmed and uninterested in providing good service. When I asked about setting up a tab, he bluntly stated they do not offer tabs, which was fine, but his response was quite rude. When it came time to order drinks and food, his manner was curt and unhelpful. He insisted that one person pay for all the meals and then collect money from the others later, which seemed unnecessary. Additionally, when a member of our group requested skinny chips instead of regular ones, he was unwilling to accommodate the request, stating that they only offered a small portion of skinny chips as a starter. Overall, the food was tasty, but the poor service from the barman put a damper on the experience. Despite liking the look of the Castle Brew House, I may not return after this disappointing visit.

We visited this restaurant for lunch during the middle of the week. It was a spontaneous visit as we had read online that reservations were not accepted. Unfortunately, the staff member who served us was rude and seemed to be in a bad mood. Despite this, the food was actually quite good and the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere. We had visited two nights prior for drinks and had a much better experience with a different staff member. It was disappointing to receive such poor service, especially as some members of our group had health issues and struggled to understand the server's harsh tone. We were tempted to leave and eat elsewhere, but decided to stay due to the presence of elderly relatives. It's a shame that this negative experience tainted what could have been a great dining spot in Warkworth.

Unfriendly and unhelpful staff, out side furniture probably as old and dirty as the castle. Not the best to accommodate disabled people, parking on a steep hill , toilets could also be a lot cleaner etc. And also expensive.

Never been here in all the 12 years I’ve been living in the area. Didn’t know what I was missing!! Good service, reasonable prices and the Sunday dinner platter for two was divine. Oldey worldey pub Loved it Dog friendly

We have stayed here the week at the apartment. Good attentive service at bar. Fabulous views of castle. Lovely cosy feel in the pub side. Lovely dinner this evening. Great place to eat, drink stay with wonderful views.
