Eshott Hall - Northumberland

The food and service at this restaurant are outstanding, making guests feel like royalty. The Library has a rich history in Northumberland, with charming background music adding to the atmosphere. This is a perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion with friends, featuring elegant white linen and silver cutlery. Even dogs are warmly welcomed at this lovely establishment.

At £105 per person, one would expect a high-quality, delicious, and professionally-served meal at Eshott Hall. However, during last year's Christmas Day lunch on 25/12/19, this was not the case. Despite the high price and promises of a warm room with a fireplace and champagne before lunch, our experience was disappointing. We were seated in a side room without Christmas decorations, tables with cloths, or enough chairs. The food was subpar, with dry turkey and frozen vegetables. Desserts were store-bought, and condiments were missing. The wine service was disorganized and the staff were unattentive. Coffee and petite fours were not served as promised. Overall, our experience at Eshott Hall was a disgrace, and we were not satisfied with the poor quality and service. Many other guests also expressed dissatisfaction, and attempts to address the issues with management were unsuccessful. We advise others to be aware of the low standards at this establishment during the holiday season.

This is an amazing restaurant, staff are very friendly, lovely atmosphere, food is so tasty and not to expensive considering the high standard. Loved the menu will 100% be back.

We love Eshott Hall and today we took my mother in law for a belated Mother’s Day lunch.The ambience was, as always, relaxed and restful.We had Sunday lunch and in the main it was a good lunch. Only two small complaints firstly the cauliflower cheese was cold but in with the rest of the meal I could accept that. Secondly, I ordered fruit salad, berries were mentioned as part of the dish. I did get fruit, a bowl of assembled fruit. There was no syrup or liquid of any sort with the fruit. I had thought maybe a little jug of cream or similar might have come along but the fruit was just put in a bowl. Apple slices, orange segments, raspberries, very soft strawberry slices (frozen? and nectarine slices, as I say, put in a bowl. It was disappointing and would need little effort to make it acceptable, not what I had expected.

Amazing food, the staff are really friendly and helpful. Very polite and happy to chat with you. The views from all windows are amazing. The grounds are lovely for a walk around before your meal. Can not wait for our wedding to come around.
