Cafe Marshalls - Northumberland

The food and service at this restaurant were fantastic. It was very crowded, so we had to wait for a table. There was outdoor seating, but unfortunately it was wet while we were there. The baked potato with salad was a standout dish.

To start off, I have to say that the food was good at this restaurant. However, the service was unfortunately very poor. When we arrived, there were only two tables occupied, one of which already had food. Despite there being three staff members in the front of the restaurant, we were not acknowledged for about 15 minutes. Additionally, after we received our food, another table sat down but waited for 10 minutes without anyone coming to help them. They eventually got up and left. While I understand that there may be a wait during busy times, there were only about five tables occupied at once during our visit.

Amazing. The food was delicious, and the restaurant is welcoming to families and dogs. The staff was cheerful and accommodating. Be sure to come with a big appetite as the portions are very generous (they also offer doggy bags).

I have visited several times when down at Berwick Upon Tweed and will continue to do so. The breakfast options are good but I think best value is option 2 which consists of 2 sausages,2 bacon, hash brown, potato scone,fried egg, haggis,black pudding, mushroom then a choice of beans or tinned tomatoes with toast and tea or coffee all for £9.50 which is great value as all ingredients are of a high quality. When we went back outside we visited their traybake van and bought chocolate brownie bombs to take home and what a surprise to bite in and find a crème egg in the centre .. delicious. If visiting be there for opening as place fills within 10 minutes and you could wait a while for a table.

Stopped off for a quick bite to eat after visiting Holy Island as it was 10/15 minutes away. Dog friendly 5* and amazing toasties served with crisps and salad and amazing tasting cakes too. Was very busy, but service again was 5*, and we will definitely be visiting again.
