Kalao world cuisine - Northbridge

This new Restaurant is a fantastic place to visit. It's located in bustling Northbridge only 5 minutes from the train station.The service is traditional fine dining style, where you get real service and the food is exceptional. They offer a la carte with most mains below $25 and a three course set menu, with choices for $28.They have a small but well composed wine list and serve the best Mocktails!

Went to Kalao today and opted for their Mother's Day Menu. For only $40, we got a apertif, a hors d'oeurve, 2 courses and a dessert. The crab was fresh and delicious. The Beef Wellington was done to perfection and full of flavour. My spouse had the rare roasted duck and that was succulent and tasted fantastic. Great value and quality food. The service staff were attentive too. I will recommend this restaurant to all my friends. We will definitely be back!

Just had dinner here and knew I had to leave a review. This location has had a few different restaurants in the last few years and I believe that it's just a tad away from the centre of northbridge and hence doesn't attract a large crowd. The menu and tag line of global restaurant drew me in and I dined here with my partner. There are a few tables on the footpath and also in the alcove between buildings. We sat in the alcove where there were outdoor heaters though we didn't need them.We chose to east fron the set menu, $26 for two courses and $28 for three. My chicken caesar salad entree and my partners calamari were main size and absolutely delicious. They were also kind enough to change the anchovy mayonnaise for another dressing. The mains were also very large and tasty. The John Dory fillet was cover in what tasted like lemon butter. My partner enjoyed his mushroom risotto which had amazing pockets of soft cheese.By this time I was very glad I didn't order dessert as I was bursting however I did have some bites of my partners caramel cheese cake with berries. A perfect end to the amazing meal.Service was excellent, changing menu items, fixing a wobbly table, cracked pepper, the works.We also received a drinks voucher got next visit.My partner and I had just finished work so we definitely weren't dressed for fine dining however this didn't change the excellent welcome we received.I hope this little gem survives so I can visit it again.

We've experienced a fantastic dining experience at Kalao World Cuisine. The menu offers a great choice of specialty dishes from around the world. If you feel like experimenting with the food, I would highly recommend their World menu. We also appreciated a relaxing atmosphere while looking over the hustle and bustle of a vibrant neighbourhood. We will definitely come back for that magnificant experience!!!

Nice decor with an outlook to a lively Northbridge street, great food from an interesting varied menu of dishes from around the world and excellent service all for a very reasonable price.I will definitely be going back to this restaurant. It's right over the road from Cinema Paradiso.
