The Captain's Boil - North York

Amazingly tasty and great for the kids. No worries about a making a mess because that's a huge part of the experience. If you like seafood then you have to try this place. It gets very busy so make a reservation.

Lemme tell you, this isn't the place where you should wear your best outfit or anything light-colored. Though plastic aprons and gloves are provided, its easy to get the sauce all over your clothes when removing the shells of the shrimps or other seafood. We tried the captain boil sauce and the garlic one with shrimp. Both delicious. The shrimps are served whole- heads and all. The cajun fries were awesome . 7 bucks extra for a side of broccoli though is ridiculous. Generally if you're a seafood lover and don't mind getting messy and potentially getting oil sprays all over your arms and around you, this place is for you. Make sure you don't leave your jacket or purse sitting next to you- sprays of the oily sauce were unavoidable. Goodbye brand new white blazer.

I think the food may have been good, but it was hard to tell because the sensory experience is overwhelmingly one of eating seafood out of a sea of trash. The bibs, plastic gloves, and plastic bags required for our meal made me really sad for the environment. Then the discarded shells start piling up on the table making it feel like we were really eating out of a smelly dumpster. There's just no way to justify this as a worthwhile "experience." Waitstaff were efficient and friendly.

The seafood was great , we had king crab , snow crab , shrimp and crawfish , just knowing how salty seafood is , it's gonna make you want to drink . Stick with water because there are no FREE refills on the fountain pop, the staff doesn't inform you of this , the glasses are small servings. Very dissatisfied with this.

Its our first time to eat at Captain's Boil. We are a fan of seafoods. I can say that their food is a bit pricey. We ordered king crabs. It (one leg crab) was good but over priced. Their clams/mussels dont have much meat. It was only shells so your money is not worth it for that item, But their shrimps, it delicious and worthy. Their sauces for the food is good, but they are overpowering by butter especially on the fried rice. Overall it was a unique experience but overpriced. But the servers are very friendly, quick and nice.
