Rib Steak!!!!!! Kathy and Nick are gracious hosts! Expect simple 1970's decor atmosphere, old school service with great food value! You can pay a lot more at fancy places downtown but why would you if you live/work uptown nearby Finch & DufferinJust think fantastic steaks at most reasonable prices!
I absolutely love this place! The location and ambiance throws you off a bit because it's in a bit of a dingy-type area and it's dark and dank inside (reminds me of a mobsters lair) but the food is certainly worth coming back to. I haven't tried many things off the menu because I always order the fish with rice, veggies and potatoes (so delicious), a salad and the escargot (I always order two). I also love dipping my bread into the remaining buttery sauce from the escargot. I've tried the prime rib as well and it is certainly delicious. Definitely worth visiting if you haven't been.
I have been eating there for years....and have never had a bad meal...not once. Great food, great staff....they have a patee that they make with salmon that's awesome!!! Haveant been there for a while but am going this week for my kids birthday...I have something to look forward too all week!!!!!
My family and I have been going to small rooms for over 20 years. The same decor as indicated in previous comments, also the same amazing owners. The are both customer service oriented and care about their customers needs. The food has always been spot on for taste and quality, we have never been disappointed in anything we have received. The staff serving are also excellent, well trained and care about the restaurant name and business. If you are looking for a "Keg", this is not the restaurant for you, go there for the noise, decor and high prices! This is a family owned restaurant with great service, price and food, go there if you are looking for that. Going back tonight as I always do when I visit from my home in BC now. Thank you Cathy and Vincent for a great place with good memories.
The decor is old and could probably use an update, but the place is quiet and clean. Location is easy to miss if you're driving. The service was good. Friendly family-owned restaurant.Steak was cooked to order (medium rare) and seasoned well. Doesn't come out on a sizzling skillet like some other steakhouses but still hot and tender. The sides (baked potato, salad) needs improvement. House salad was nothing totalk about and the baked potato was plain with no options to add anything else (chives, sour cream, bacon bits, cheese, etc.). If there were options, they were notlisted on the menu nor offered by our server. The relish dish (kalamata olives, pickles, shrimp/seafood mousse) and garlic breadare not bad. First time I've had this particular accompaniment at a steakhouse. All in all, a decent place to come for a steak dinner if you're not looking to spend toomuch. For 2 people: two steaks, relish dish, sides, a glass of wine, and a beer cost about $80 after taxes and gratuity. They also brought out after-dinner B-52 shots for each of us...a nice touch.
