High Street Fish And Chips - North York

Why have they changed the cod? It looks like giant fish sticks now. Makes me wonder if it comes frozen like that. The waitress said they cut it like that so the batter sticks better. I don’t agree. Fries were so so.

Just moved to Toronto and we are on the hunt for great fish chips. This is our second try. The fish portion was good and meaty, but the batter was a bit too heavy. The chips were not great .... and the onion rings...terrible. The first place we tried was much better. Sorry High Street but with this fairly average offering we will keep trying other places.

Small little restaurant tucked into underhill mall. They serve some of the best fish and chips i have had.

My wife and I have been going ti High Street for dozens of years. In the last or so years the quality of the fish has been going downhill; now to the point I cannot recommend it. The Halibut is supposed to be from...Nova Scotia, but I suspect it came by slow boat from Rangoon over a multitude of decades, It and the cod were tasteless and hard.

I don't like fish and chips so I ordered A pot pie. It was really good made with good ingredients. The room is nice and clean. Service is prompt and friendly. The place is worth a try even if the strip mall is very underwhelming.
