Great for kids, great for just sitting and enjoying a coffee. Savoury: pocket/turnovers, sausage rolls; sweets: cookies, ice-cream, special cones. Right next to Bickford Park, pictures of the Harbord Bridge on the wall when it still went over Garrison Creek.
We were visiting from Nova Scotia and I had just seen a feature on Food Network about Bean and Baker Malt Shop. I told my hubby and son that we just had to make a special trip to visit! It was wonderful! I love vintage and retro and this was all that and more! The corner location with counter and stools, super friendly owner and staff, historic photos and memorabilia and the delicious treats and drinks; it was step back in time that was lovingly being shared with friends who are treated as family! Everything was delicious and so well presented. The carrot cake was the best I have ever had and carrot cake is my go to dessert! And the butter tart just oozed richness. I'm looking forward already to stopping in again next year on our annual trip to Toronto. Thank you for making our visit special!!
I come here for breakfast almost everyday, I love it here. The staff and owners are great!
Saw the shop on the Food Network. We’re from Northern Ontario and when a trip to Toronto came up, I knew we had to stop in and check the bakery out. We were not disappointed! Great service and super delicious tarts and cookies! This will definitely be a “have too visit” spot every time we’re in Toronto.
I have passed this place so many times on the bus and said I needed to stop in. I finally had the chance. I loved the classic malt shop feel and overall look. The shake I had was delicious and the slice of cheesecake so amazing. I cannot wait to go back .
