Crimson Oak Pub - North Vernon

During our recent visit, both the appetizers and main dishes were excellent. We were part of a group and only needed to pay for our drinks, so I'm not sure about the total cost.

The three others in my party ordered steaks, but they were served at room temperature. For $45 a plate, it's unacceptable to wait so long only to receive cold food. They did offer a small 25% discount or to refire the meals, but we didn't want to wait any longer. Additionally, we were seated at the bar area, near the extra dining section, and I found myself getting up constantly to let people in and out. The fire code seemed to be disregarded with the Valentine’s trees blocking the sides. What frustrated me the most was that no manager came out to address any of these problems. Having worked in the service industry myself, I know it only takes a moment to acknowledge issues when they occur. While our server did an excellent job of communicating with us, the lack of managerial presence was concerning. A simple apology would have gone a long way. My advice? Make a reservation and avoid visiting on weekends.

The food was enjoyable, though I found it to be somewhat pricey. However, it was definitely tasty. The restaurant is quite small and tends to fill up quickly.

I heard great things about the food and it was all true. Drove from Madison just to try it and it did not disappoint!

Always a recommended restaurant. Food is great and they make the best Old Fashion around.
