I finally found my favorite restaurant north shore thai! I don't know what took me so long. I had a favorite Thai restaurant in my old quarter in vancouver, and nothing on the north shore seemed to come close. I guess I haven't tried this before because of the negative reviews? well, that was a lection for me to try for me instead of being influenced by reviews! last week a family member wanted to celebrate their birthday in the thai house restaurant. the food, service and the atmosphere were fantastic! unfortunately I could only make a photo of the tom kha suppe because I was so excited and eating so much I forget to make more photos! we were a group of 6 and enjoyed tasting different dishes that we shared. my personal favorites are the traditional pad thai with tamarindensoße and tigerpuppen, tom suppkhae with garnelen and yellow curry with huhn. if they are looking for vegetarian options, the yellow curry with tofu and mixed season pleasure with chiang mai were also very good. we also enjoyed the thai satay chicken, jump rolls and cashew chicken. I love that pad thai has the thin reisnules and that they offer it with tamarindensauce as an option and not just tomato sauce. all dishes with garnelen had a generous portion of them. I loved eating so much that I was returning twice in the last week! I can't get enough of the tom kha suppe that the taste is vulnerable! parking behind the restaurant makes this immerse and the trip so easy in an animated opposite. thank you. thai house! we are coming back!
We called ahead and asked how long the lunch special was, we came there in time to just say it wasn't on today. we were also the only people in the restaurant and I wish I had never set myself right. the joint is well decorated, but feel like its all show a front of the house, how to eat is the least thai authentic I ever tasted, they didn't even give us chordsticks and gave us that were troubled. we then got the brunch special, which is added more expensive (as lunch) and they don't have an salat, any reason that hangs with covid has nothing to do with me, but hey. I hate to give a bad review, but also hate that feeling as if I had been cut off. the jasmine rice was not sticky and tasted microwave/uncooked. the mixed season sweet with tofu and satay-based juicy, was placid orange colored and tasted nothing like erdnuss, but tasted like it came from a premixed store-bought crug. my pad bai was not sharp in the smallest and the pad Thai star did not even have Thai pad noodles or a kalkkeil. seems small, but for me that is not Thai food and seems the spending on decor have made a significant contribution to the quality of food.
Where else can you have a consistent quality meal at a beautifully decorated restaurant for $11.50 in 2021? I have been ordering take away from here even BC (Before Covid). Never had a bad experience and fortunately had time and opportunity to dine in to take some pics to share. Service and food are hotelesque ...it's unreasonably amazing!
Service was mediocre at best. Waited at the table for 10 minutes before even waters were brought over. Finished my meal before the server came over to quality check. I had to ask for a water refill. Pad Thai tastes like they poured ketchup into the sauce pan and thinned with water and sweet and sour sauce. I’ve never and hope to never taste a ketchup based Pad Thai again. That said the Green Curry was good. We waited again for 10 minutes to pay.
