La Galleria Delicatessen

This is simply the best little sandwich deli on the North Shore! As there is always a long line up, I usually order by phone and then just pop in for pick up. I have tried most of the selections on their sandwich board with the exception of the vegetarian and all have been very tasty. We usually split one baguette between the two of us and pick up a container of their soup or one of their salads to go along with it.

Certainly not a fine dining experience, but when you see the lineup out the door at lunch time, you know that there must be something interesting inside!There is small menu of a handful of sandwiches, (my favorite is prosciutto with roasted red paper and babecued eggplant) served on freshly baked baguettes often still warm from the oven.Delectable! you will probably have to wait in line but it's worth it!!

This little place is tucked away on a side street and the store front is away from the street...so easy to miss. However, ask any locals and they'll tell you this is probably the best place to get a sandwich.So, off I trod soaking in the rain and after a few back and forth's, I finally found this place. Really? Good sandwiches here? Well, I got salmon for myself and chicken and beef for my friends.Wow. The sandwiches were really, really good. The bun was just right crustiness and chewiness. The dressings just the right amount and type. The meat were fresh and tasty. The veggies were fresh and crisp.I thought the price for a sandwich was a little higher than most places, but for what you get, it's worth every penny. Best of all, they were opened by 11am when just about every restaurant in this area don't open till noon. I'll definitely come back to this place for lunch again. Go try it for yourself if you're in this little North Vancouver community.

The only compliant I have about Galleria is that they're not open on Sunday's. There is always a line up because all of their sandwiches are amazing. The baguettes are perfect and their secret sauce which I suspect is really just a combination of mayo w a splash of ketchup, is amazing. usually go for the prosciutto or roast beef while my kids love the ham and cheese. They have good quality Italian olive n truffle oil for sale as well. Love this place but be prepared to wait about 15 minutes on average.

La Galleria is most famous with the locals for their sandwiches. SImply made but absolutely delicious, I recommend the roasted chicken.I often bring friends and family here for a quick lunch, they are always unimpressed when I suggest sandwiches but blown away once they try it.Best to-go lunch spot in North Van for sure!
