John 3:16 Malaysian Delights

This is the best Malaysian food we have discovered in the Lower Mainland. I lived in Singapore for three years, and my husband is a Singaporean native.

The service was good and the food was delicious. However, I preferred the location in Richmond as I felt the quality has slightly declined. Nonetheless, it is still a good option for this area, especially considering the price.

While in the area, I decided to have a late lunch at this restaurant based on the positive Yelp reviews.

We passed this restaurant many times but were a little concerned as we are not Christians. One lunch time we 'took the plunge' and were delighted with our choice of restaurant for lunch. The service was excellent as was the food. We will return!

The 2 of us managed to squeeze in for a quick dinner just before they closed. Unfortunately they close at 10 pm on week nights with a last call to order at 9:30 pm. It didn't take long for our food to arrive. We ordered the Kam Hiong Prawns and Sambal okra with green beans. Both dishes were packed full of flavour with just enough kick. The prawns were a decent size and quantity. I imagine that it is easy to kick it up a notch or 2, if you choose. Great location, just off Highway 1. Take the Lonsdale exit heading south. Not far to drive if you have a hankering for authentic Malaysian food. Great ambience and clean. Good selection of meat (chicken, beef and lamb) plus tofu and seafood. Can't wait to try the other dishes.
