The Angel Inn - North Somerset

Nothing fancy just more or less the perfect country pub (imho).

What a great pub. Proper pub. You don't often see horses in a pub garden. Beer quality could have been a little better.

The Angel is a very old Inn and has great character. The staff are very helpful and extremely trustworthy. The hospitality is wonderful. Best nights sleep the bed was so comfortable. The breakfasts are the best.

This pub is a fantastic spot located within easy walking distance of Ashton Court Estate. We spent the night here during a festival visit. The bar manager/owner was incredibly attentive and welcoming despite the busy atmosphere. The rooms are cozy and well-equipped, although a bit noisy due to traffic outside - only single-pane windows. The portion sizes are generous - we had a hearty lunch and a filling breakfast the next morning.

After dropping off relatives at the airport, my husband and I were in search of a place to eat. The Angel Inn was recommended to us by patrons at another pub that did not serve food on Saturdays. The exterior of the restaurant looked old but charming, and the interior was equally beautiful. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food was both plentiful and delicious. I mistakenly ordered a side of onion rings, not realizing that my main course already came with a generous portion of them. We ended up with so much food on our plates that we had to ask for a tray to bring the leftovers home. However, even after returning to south Wales, we were still too full to eat them. Our dog happily enjoyed the leftovers instead. We will definitely choose to dine at The Angel Inn again if we find ourselves in Bristol in the future.
