Charles Cottage - North Providence

Used to live in building above this restaurant. It 's definitely not one you would want to eat out of or in! We moved out of building due to unsanitary conditions once Charles cottage took over the restaurant and was preparing to open. We began having mice and rats in the building as well as watched food get delivered and was left outside in the heat(this was august) for over 6hours on the side of building where cars are driving by and the dumpster and trash bins are. The delivery was not shelf stable and included fresh and pre chopped vegetables, shrimp, cabbage, chicken and pork spare ribs. That 's only what I could see on top as there was more!!! I 've watched them begin to open the restaurant beginning in March of 2021, as of August 2021 it still wasn 't open for dining or takeout but the owner would be sitting at the bar all day and especially all night long with the side emergency door open to the place for rodents and people alike to come in.. Yet the only people I did see visit were older men who came very late at night in expensive cars who always entered through the side door along with the few younger women who also entered discreetly as well. Since I lived above I asked if they were hiring but was told they were currently staffed. However since they were not open nor serving any food I don 't know where they worked. I 'm not going to accuse them of anything I 'm just going to say before eating there(when they finally serve food) ask yourself if you would like the person who is handling it to have just been handling someone else 's sausage ! I 'm sure it 's not a coincidence they named it as if it were a motel!!!

The food was amazing Very nice owner, he's also a very friendly guy will be going here again soon.!!

So this place took over the old KOI and it took a while for them to open. We ordered from them last night, our Christmas Day tradition to eat Chinese food. They did forget to give me my chicken fingers but the Owner was apologetic and gave me a little extra. He also gave me extra crab Rangoons so that was nice. Everything was really good. The beef teriyaki was nice and tender. He also gave me a $10 gift certificate so that was nice! Definitely will be going back.
