Brown Bottle North Liberty

The food and service were excellent. However, I was taken aback to find the restaurant situated in a small strip mall, and I was disappointed by the atmosphere in the back room where my group was seated. The mini blinds and view of the parking lot weren't very appealing. Given its great reputation, I was disheartened to see the Brown Bottle in a new development that feels a bit lacking in character.

Our group of seven was seated right on time. The menu was fantastic, offering options for food enthusiasts, kids, seniors, picky eaters, and everyone else in between. The service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable (we didn’t order wine that night, which helped keep the bill a bit lower).

We came here for my husband's birthday and had a great meal. I did not tell the wait staff that it was a special occasion, and they did not ask. Although I did put it on my on-line reservation, it wasn't brought up by our server. Not a problem, though. The food was excellent and service outstanding!

Really enjoyed the whole experience here. Really lived up to all the other reviews we read. Very good, from scratch tasting Italian. I always get the good old fashoned spaghetti and meatballs when I first eat at a place like this as a test. The marinara sauce was excellent as were the meatballs and al dente pasta. The salad and dressing were great too. All around great place for dates and family dinners.

We were seated right next to the kitchen, and the noise was quite overwhelming. We could hear everything—the clanging of dishes, people shouting, and the typical sounds of a busy kitchen. Unfortunately, this really detracted from our overall experience.
