I love trying new dishes, and today I had the soft tofu stone dish, which was incredible. As a meat lover, I typically don’t enjoy tofu, but this soft tofu just melts in your mouth. It has a savory flavor that isn't too salty, and just the right amount of spice to make my nose tingle. With the rice and other side dishes it comes with, it made for a completely satisfying meal. I could rave about this place for hours. While there are good Korean restaurants in Providence, Bapsang is absolutely worth the trip from the city. I can’t wait to come back again and again until I’ve tried everything on the menu. I would be heartbroken if they ever closed!
As soon as we came in, we were seated but did not receive menus. A couple arrived just five minutes after us, and they were served menus before we were, despite waiting about ten minutes. Once we finally got our menus and placed our order, the couple who came after us had their orders taken before ours. After ordering, we waited for 20-30 minutes only to be served a dish we didn’t even order. It turned out they had forgotten to process our order. While they apologized, it was frustrating to see the couple who arrived after us finishing their meals while we hadn’t even received our appetizer yet. After another 10-15 minutes, our food finally arrived. On a positive note, the food was excellent. I have no complaints about the quality, from the appetizers to the entrees. I finished my meal, but my friend left about half of hers. When the bill came, the server didn't even ask if we were finished, despite my friend still being full. We wanted dessert, but we had to wait for the server to return before we could place that order. Overall, while the food was fantastic, the service was disappointing. It felt as though we were neglected and forgotten during our visit.
I really enjoyed the dumpling soup. I requested some soy sauce since it wasn't available on the tables, and they brought out an excellent soy sauce from the kitchen, much better than the usual packets. It really enhanced the flavor of the soup. The sweet and spicy chicken wings were also delicious. The restaurant is quaint, with about eight tables, and the service was great. They kept the place clean, too.
The Tofu soup was delicious and filled. Also kimchi trio and brown rice green tea.
Most authentic Korean cuisine in state of RI! The chef used to work in 5 star hotel back in Seoul ;
