We visited this restaurant for breakfast with our visiting family. The staff was very understaffed - only one person at the bar, one in the kitchen, and two on the floor. Despite the busy and high-pressure situation, the staff that was there worked tirelessly to provide excellent service. Special thanks to Dianne and a lovely young lady on the bar for their exceptional service. The food was delicious, apart from the frozen hash browns. Kudos to the team for handling the pressure well and maintaining excellent service throughout.
Stopped en-route to Lincoln. A buzzy place with a carvery on the go as well as pub grub to provide a good choice. The carvery had a choice of Turkey , gammon or beef and many different vegetables. We waited for the turkey to come out of the oven and upon arrival it looked more boiled than roasted with blood coming from the leg area when carved by the chef. The commercial cooking process almost certainly ensures that the turkey was not undercooked but it was rather unappealing. Went for the beef which was ok but lacking flavour. Two meals and drink for around £20 was a fair price for what was on offer.
Having been to Windmill Farm for the past two years for their Turkey Tinsel event, which was great value for money and highly enjoyable, it was a no-brainer for our family to return again this year. We first learned about the festive arrangements from Diane, whom we met while dining there in the summer of 2021. We booked our table for all three Tuesdays in December and it has become a tradition for our large extended family to gather here to celebrate Christmas in style. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, greeting us with big smiles. After being seated and having our drinks brought to us, we enjoy catching up before the food is served around 1:00pm. The ordering process is smooth and efficient as we had pre-ordered our meals. The dishes are well-presented, hot, and delicious, definitely offering great value for money. While most of us opt for the traditional Turkey dinner, there are alternative options available and the starters and desserts are included. The entertainment each week was fantastic, with a different singer getting everyone on the dance floor in the Christmas spirit. The only minor complaint was the lack of parsnips one day, as they are a family favorite. Overall, we would highly recommend these events to anyone looking for a great value meal and entertainment during the Christmas season. We are grateful to Diane for introducing us to these events and commend the hardworking and friendly staff at Windmill Farm for their excellent service to a large and appreciative clientele. Thank you to everyone at Windmill Farm and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We are already looking forward to returning and experiencing Turkey Tinsel in 2024!
We booked a table on line and chose this restaurant as there was a play area for our 2 year old granddaughter. She had a wonderful time, we were served by an excellent waitress known as Lauren E, she was very attentive to our grandchild. The food was very good, the only problem, which is hardly anything. The cauliflower cheese, from the carvery, could have had more cheese. Although my macaroni cheese was excellent. We were not rushed and, beware, the puddings are enormous, and delicious
