The Retreat Cafe at Strathmere

This review title is a bit misleading in my situation—I only drove about 15 minutes to get there because I live “locally”. However, for those in Ottawa or Brockville or even further flung, this is DEFINITELY worth the jaunt. You can have breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Strathmere Retreat Café.I went to lunch with a friend who’s dined there multiple times and swears that each and every meal has been fantastic. I had the Retreat Café Sandwich and loved it! Sometimes I find sandwich bread too thick but this was not: it was perfect for my appetite and taste. My friend ordered the Baked Eggs dish for the first time and said it was delicious. We also enjoyed specialty teas and a quick peek around the facilities and grounds before we left.I’d recommend reading the details on the website for information on opening hours and age restrictions (to avoid any disappointment).Strathmere is a beautiful, serene, sprawling setting with many buildings and amenities. The Retreat and Spa (plus Café) is the latest addition and the Café food was great!

We were a party of six that had made reservations. Although signage is a bit tricky, we were welcomed at the door. The menu is a bit different than what is posted on-line, but is of a similar approach. Will go again.

Small and delightful Cafe with pleasant staff and some great local wine. Interesting delicious food choices prepared with locally grown produce.

Had lunch and was very good, Friendly, relaxing atmosphere. They even have a firepit surrounded by adirondack chairs And you can sip your wine out there surrounded by nature.

We had an amazing meal here for mother's day (they host a $39 mother's day brunch buffet).
