Had tea for which came in a huge pot, and a single fruit scone which was certainly big enough for I've had a lot of scones in my time but honestly this was one of the best. Seemed to be a friendly community cafe which also included the local library. Will visit again if in the area
We stopped for a snack after a lovely walk at Humberston Fitties. It was late in the afternoon, so only cakes and drinks were available, which was perfect for us. We ordered tea, which came in a large pot, and a single fruit scone that was surprisingly large and delicious. I've had many scones in my lifetime, but this one was definitely one of the best. The cafe seemed to be a welcoming community spot that also housed the local library. We will definitely visit again if we are in the area.
I am not sure where to begin with this restaurant review. The tables were all dirty even though there were no other customers in the restaurant. I had to clean my table using my toddler's baby wipes. After that, I ordered a coffee and a slice of cake. I received my coffee first and sat down, waiting for my cake to arrive. By the time it finally came, my coffee was already cold. I don't understand why it took so long, considering there were only me and my toddler in the restaurant. The cake was terrible, very dense and rubbery, clearly not fresh. I would not recommend this place and will not be returning.
I was told it was a fantastic place to be, however i came down from Whitby to see my Mother, we decided to find a place to order some food, was told about Gingerbread house from her friend i ordered a milkshake with ham and...mustard panini, my Mother ordered a bacon, avocado and chicken sandwich i think, the bacon barely hit the pan, it looked raw, my milkshake became a hot chocolate, soon as we sat down they bleached the table for cleaning, had to take inhaler... they could've of done this in their spare time when nobody was sat down, we said thankyou and left, none of them barely lift their head up to say thankyou and bye back
Visited today early afternoon. Lots of reserved tables.. but luckily one spare! Table clean. One menu. Some food on the chair.. which I brushed off before sitting down. Obviously not spotted. Airy and fresh environment. Service fast and friendly. We chose from the menu, but...sadly when about order was told of many missing items and only jacket potatoes left. Clearly a popular place.. and within a couple of hours must have sold loads. Ended up having brie and bacon panini which came with a small side salad, crisps and slaw. Also a jacket with brie and cranberry. Both fresh.. cooked perfectly and generous with cheese! A pot of tea severed with a china tea cup spot on. Shame so many choices gone. Many reserved tables left.. so I imagine some later arrivals may have been a bit disappointed with choice. Scones look amazing.. Great beer choices.. and cakes looked very good. Staff super happy and friendly. Worth a visit.. but if after a full choice.. get there early!
