Coffee#1 - North Dorset

Beautiful cake / drinks and dog friendly also, which is a bonus. the tables are very close together, especially in the current climate, but overall a nice place for a rest while in shaftesbury.

Visiting Shaftesbury for the first time, stopped off at Coffee #1 for a cafe latte over the Easter weekend. Sadly takeaway only due to Covid restrictions. Good coffee. Helpful barista who directed us in the town. But a little pricey due to the area.

Dirty wooden spoons on the floor, cobwebs and dirt on the windowsill and the toilet was so brown and splattered as to be unusable. This place had not even been dusted let alone sanitised, felt very unsafe here. The coffee in cardboard cups was watery yet bitter. Couldn’t get much worse.

I have a particular fondness for this restaurant. I adore the atmosphere, the convenient location, the friendly staff, and especially the fantastic coffee. The desserts are also quite good.

The service is quick and friendly and the cakes are great. I especially like the chocolate brownie and the toasted tea cake.
