Really nice cafe , I enjoyed creamy mushrooms on toast. And gingery lime drink.

Update on stay here Tues 7th, 10 days on: excellent!! Very good . Many thanks. Nice coffee food kind friendly warm pleasant service. And from good young staff working kindly and well seems to me, each doing. Good team get on ways, kindly doing, persevering so too. (The toilet could do with bit of an update and whoever cleans it being more sharp on the ball to make it all sweet spick and span... like the rest of the lovely place is..! This is my beliefs and review of here. And will hope to come back more. Visited it 7 years ago on a stay. Still going strong. ! That says something. Appreciated by locals community too very much it seems. Friendly to all, welcoming spirit way too, it seems, I find. Thank you. On my stay here very nice to find, again anew. Very good! Much appreciated of a Sunday morning such polite service even if young staff not just quite so sharply with it, learning the good ropes. But all very polite and in the patient atmosphere we all need. And maybe a bit more so 2020s just now. Very good much enjoyed: coffee bacon sandwich and very tasty warmed croissant with jam. Tasty food and a nice coffee and tea. Thank!! you.

Surprisingly quiet when we arrived for a late lunch on bank holiday Monday but a great stop off after visiting Old Wardour Castsle a few minutes drive away. They were very good with the kids and accommodated us very well. I enjoyed the Rarebit, and the Carrot Cake was amazingly moist and delicious!

Good Friday turned into a really bad one. We had not been to Beatons for 3 months because we said we would never go back, but they say time heals. The order for my wife and I was, Scrambled Egg on Toast, Crispy Bacon and Egg Sandwich (Poached), and 2 One Shot Lattes. The young waitress was very pleasant. Unfortunately she then went on to serve 2 customers that arrived after us which ment we didn 't get our drinks till after our cooked breakfast arrived. My wife had a third coffee and two thirds foam. Really bad result. The food came and my wifes egg on toast was one slice of toast, a bit mean. When I opened my sandwich the bacon was nearly raw, the fat around the outside was still transparent, this is supposed to be crispy as said on the Menu. I really couldn 't eat this, I asked the young waitress to have it cooked more so it went back to the kitchen. 10 mins later it returned with the same egg which was now 15mins old and cold, and the same bread. I would have thought a new sandwich would arrive back that would be done correctly, but no. I did eat it but it wasn 't nice. I went to pay (over £20) for the experience, no apology, just a request for the full amount. As she was young I didn 't make a fuss, just said 'you shouldn 't be charging me for the sandwich, it was awful, ' her response was to lift the card machine for the payment in silence. This is what happens when you employ school children to run your Tearoom and kitchen. Absolutely never again, and I live in the village and could have been a regular income. It will be interesting to see if I get a response to this.

Was unable to try anything as the cafe isn’t dog friendly. Which was a shame because my family and I, plus my very small dog, had travelled especially to try the coffee and cakes. Seems a shame to exclude the majority. We weren’t even offered a takeaway!
