I called the day to have champagne at her table when they arrived. The receptionist told me that her reservation had been canceled. The hotel claimed that my parents cancelled their room reservation and therefore their dinner reservation was cancelled. My parents never made a room reservation. When I asked how the restaurant could do that right, I was hung up. I talked to the manger. No excuse. He just said he couldn't do anything. Luckily, I called since we had a two-hour drive. My parents were so disappointed that their 50-year anniversary dinner was ruined, but grateful that we didn't drive 2 hours to say their reservation was canceled. We're not planning celebrations here anymore. So disappointed by reception and management.
We had only 4 days, 3 nights at White Mountain Hotel and Resort on the first weekend of school holidays! We booked our vacation a little last minute, but we could reserve two rooms. I am extremely worthy of the staff (Guinevere? who went the extra mile to get our rooms next to each other to make our stay easier. It was nice to have our family coordinates easier and it was so much more fun to stay. The staff was very friendly and welcoming (Joanne? which also made the stay very pleasant. Because it was school holidays, North Conway was extremely busy! No restaurant in the city had reservations, and a table for 4 often had a wait of 45 60 minutes! Hungry children make for difficult holidays. I would like to give the hotel restaurant additional cudos (Ledges for dinner so fast and so friendly and flexible with the children (Alexia? . The food was great, and we got our food quickly, and it was a good way to finish our trip! Another note about eating a complete breakfast in Ledges was included in our stay, and breakfast was delicious (choices of Omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, etc.). Our rooms were very comfortable and modern. Our beds were comfortable, and the climate control worked very well in the rooms. I also appreciated the modern bathroom with Aveda bath products. Good water pressure, and I had enough hot water to shower. This could not be a big thing for some people, but I liked it to use real glasses (not paper cups for drinking and that it was a pantry to be filtered, still water and Seltzer water, but the Seltzer water was not working when we were there. Coffee drinkers like the Kerig coffee machine, but I'm not a coffee drinker. The walls are a bit thin, so you can sometimes hear conversations in the hallway when other guests speak loud or run up and down. Sometimes the guests bring dogs, and you can sometimes hear a dog bark, but the dogs aren't so often. And the sound wasn't very often that it bothered me. I could sleep well. There was also a pool, a hot tub and a fire pit, and I saw many people enjoy these amenities, but I didn't use them. There is also a beautiful view fitness room and a small playroom with about 5 6 arcade games and a table tennis. There might be a better decoration in the playroom, but it's not a big thing. There was also a spa, but we did not have enough time to use this service. Overall I had a great stay, and I would stay again and recommend friends and family. Thanks again to everyone at White Mountain Hotel and Resort for our stay so wonderful!
We're coming to North Conway about twice a year, so we were over there. This is not the worst place, but we will not be back to stay and it was not worth the money. We had come to White Mountain Hotel for drinks a few times in the past and decided to stay there this time. At first it was very loud. We were on the third floor so fortunately no sound from above, but the walls and doors are extremely thin. At 2:45 a.m., about 30 minutes, something went to the hall where people talked and a walkie talk went out. The view from our room was great. The sauna and the pool of women were both out of order when we were there. The restaurant was the most frustrating part of our stay. Two weeks before our stay, I informed the hotel by email that my husband and I had food restrictions. The person who replied that she would let the Food/Beverage Director know. (FYI, my husband is the food and beverage director in a high-end country club and has 15 years in the hospitality industry. He also has a culinary degree). We even wrote the restriction on any reservation we made (2 dinners and 2 breakfasts). When we came to the restaurant, the server said they could not accept our nutritional restrictions because it was a special Valentine's Day menu. I told him I was aware and let him know we had contacted the restaurant before the time. The FB director came by and said she never received the email, but saw that on the reservation we had set our restrictions (and apparently not interested). She went back to the chef who said he could do something by letting some things from salads and not giving us any appetizers. The price of dinner was $99 on the Prix Fixe menu, but if we added how much it would cost us normally, it was just a $50 meal, so we left and spent our Valentine's Day eating at pizza place that was more than accommodating. We ate the menu next night because we knew they had options for our food restriction, but it was disappointing (the cook 's cream fraiche was acidic cream from a squirt bottle). It was clear after 2 breakfasts, and a dinner that, although they have in several places that they have diet-restriction options, they are not at all cautious as we noticed when we were serving meals, the clear ingredients we had 't it could eat. We won't stay there again. I work for a travel agency so it was very disappointing that I cannot recommend a hotel with such a beautiful view of our customers. It is also disappointing that I had such great hopes for this stay, but it did not fulfill our expectations. One, although the spa is a guest room, the massage was very good.
Great place! Breakfast was included with our reservation. No continental breakfast, but a complete sit-down order, what you want breakfast. The food was delicious. Had dinner at the bar one night and food was also great. Just wish that they apps during the day, but not the biggest deal. Our room was clean, spacious and had a nice view (did get mountain view), but I think most rooms offer a great view. The highlight of this resort is the outdoor hot tub and the heated pool. Was amazing to sit in the whirlpool while the snow came. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be back in autumn!
This hotel worked out perfectly for my guests and I staying 3 nights. The outdoor heated pool was a delight. The room was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent. Seating though for breakfast took way too long and staff seemed somewhat unorganized and confused. The hotel also advertises room service as an option that is posted in the elevator yet staff knew nothing about it. This place does need to offer that as an option for guests arriving past 9pm or if dinner at the restaurant is booked. Other than that, it's very centrally located right by shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions and I would recommend it.
