I gave an order to this restaurant last night after an employee recommended this place. I ordered a dinner special containing sweet sour chicken, pancit guisado and bacon fried rice. There was hardly any ANY sauce on the sweet acid chicken, so it was extremely bland tasting and very dissatisfied! The portion size was also extremely small! The Pancit guisado was mixed quite ALL noodles with a few pieces of onion, and maybe one or two pieces of shrimp. Again... extremely bland and very dissatisfied. Finally, the bacon of fried rice had almost no vegetables or proteins mixed in it, and it was also extremely bland and so dissatisfied with no sign or taste of any bacon, whatever. And again the portion size for the rice was very small! I asked about adding a CUP of soup to my order, but went back when I was informed that it would cost an extra $6.00 for a CUP of soup?! It was a great disappointment, a huge waste of time, gas and money! I'll never order from this restaurant again. I ordered Chinese food from another restaurant last night because I was still hungry and good Chinese food after so disappointed by the Bland, tasteless Carbs, for which I paid at The Oriental Cuisine. I really wish I could bring my money back! The good thing about my meal was the lumps.
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Charleston. I've been eating in oriental cuisine for a few years as long as I remember. You have the best pepper steak, pancite and lumps. I also order extra lumps when I take back home and eat the next day. All right.
I've been eating in Oriental Cusine for 30 years. Today 8 lumping eiroole and eggdrop soup did not get them the vegetable soup I wanted today). The service was fast. Eggs roll super. The soup was like water with egg AWFUL. They just needed to know. Things slip.
I?ve been eating at OC since I was a child. The quality of food and service has never changed and they hands down have the best lumpia I?ve ever eaten! 100% recommend if you?re looking for a long time, locally owned restaurant!!
I have been a customer of Oriental Cuisine for over 35 years. It's still ok food compared to the five star before Covid. The last two times I have been there my food was very disappointing. My sweet and sour porks breading was not done inside. I'm not sure what was different about the rice except it was gummy and had no taste. Prices have increased everywhere but for three adults it was over $50! Won't be frequenting here as often anymore.
