Chef Racks Garlic Crabs

Although not on the menu, Chef Racks managed to create a fantastic dish for me. Having come from New York, I can confidently say this is the best spot in Charleston! The garlic butter sauce and special seasoning blend were perfect, and the eggs were freshly peeled while the corn was cooked to perfection. The service was quick as well! This is the best restaurant in the area. I've visited 3 or 4 times, and I've always been impressed with their food.

I ordered the steamed shrimp dinner, and be ready for a bit of a mess! The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked (you have to peel them yourself). The garlic sauce was delicious, though the corn would have been better with just butter. The drink selection is limited. The staff was very friendly.

Initially, I was impressed by the atmosphere. The music was enjoyable, and the restaurant was clean. The food was quite good—not overly greasy, with fresh fish and shrimp, and the garlic butter was outstanding (though at $1 each, I don't think it's worth the extra cost). Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. Our server was preoccupied with their phone, and we had to wait between 30 minutes to an hour for our meals, with one of our side dishes missing. Throughout this time, our server remained distracted by their phone. Overall, despite the decent food, my experience at this restaurant was disappointing.

Without a doubt, this place has the best garlic butter in Charleston. My wife introduced me to it, and now I find myself craving it at least once a week. I treat myself to the shrimp and crab platter, which is priced at $50. While it might seem a bit steep, I promise you—it’s the best $50 I've spent on food in years!
