No one came to wait on me, the bartender stood at the bar talking with the male patrons, knew I was there but never waited on me or alerted anyone. The waitress walked by me to cleaned a outside table, never aknowledging my presence. After being there for around 5 minutes, I left. I want emphasize there were 3 patrons at the ba., No one else. Really sad.
A friend and I visited the Oak Inn for a late dinner, and it was truly a mixed bag. The dining room is open until 11, which was a major draw for us as it was already quote late. The service was, if not great, certainly acceptable. The food is reasonably priced, we had an appetizer and two meals and got out under $50. It was also pretty damn delicious, and the portions were kind of outrageously large definitely took a box home. We had deep fried cheesecurds as an appetizer and they were piping hot and perfectly melty. My friend ordered this ridiculous hotdog dubbed Mexico 's Favorite Hotdog, that turned out to be absolutely enormous, was smothered in fixings, and got great reviews from my friend between bites. I ordered the chicken and ribs, not at all expecting the mountain of food that was set in front of me. The chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked, the barbecue sauce on the ribs was smokey and slightly sweet, perfect for my palate. However, while I obviously know the ribs weren 't prepared to order, they were...well not cold, but not hot enough. Both of our meals came with steak fries that were cooked very near perfectly. This place has a bar inside, and there 's really nothing blocking the dining room from the bar area, which makes it feel a bit open and exposing when I 'm trying to have a conversation with my friend. I 'm sure we weren 't overheard, though, because the lack of separation from the bar area meant that the drunk people yelling and laughing on the other side of the bar was more than enough noise to drown out the conversations from the tables around us. A bit obnoxious, really. All in all, I 'd definitely go here again because the food is above expectations and the price is right, but maybe not late on a Friday night.
H E R E A G A I N I thought it was time to hit this place again, rotation and all ya know. So nothing has changed. At all. Still needs deep cleaned !! It is summer, so the ladies room isn't cold. Friendly bartender, mediocre food, and all the peanuts you can eat. Too bad turkey burgers aren't on the menu, that one I had here was damn good. S M A L L T O W N R E S T A U R A N T
Generous portions and very tasteful food. Hamburger was hand patted and delicious. The onion rings were about the best we have ever had! Service super good and friendly. Shout out to Kristy, who was prompt and took the time to walk through a lot of items on the menu. Will definitely stop here again!
How do you screw up a chicken strip? Well, these guys have managed to do just that. Flavorless and greasy. Better food at a Kwik Trip. It's too bad because the staff are really pretty great.
