River View Diner - North Bergen

Old school diner with super friendly staff. Can order anything any time of day and unlike a lot of places they allow substitutions.

Food is top notch, consistent, always tasty. Owners are lovely.

Great service, great portions and reasonable prices.

I went here for lunch today with ny three year old daughter and my dad. My daughter got chicken finger and fries. The fries were good but the chicken fingers were gross. I wanted a small salad but they only sold the full salad. So I ordered a $16 Greek salad. It was 80% iceberg lettuce. What a waste of food. Also they gave me a “Ken’s Greek dressing bottle” of salad dressing with a different top on it. This was not Greek dressing but your standard Italian. When I asked for Greek the waitress pointed to the label and said this is Greek. I said no it’s not but ok.later she told me she tasted it and agreed it was Italian but said they are all the same dressing. Anyway it’s shame because there aren’t many diners of here but this place was truly a waste of my money. Very disappointed. Usually a diner has a certain level of reliability, this was terrible.

Ordered a black and white “super thick milkshake” to go on a hot summer day. What I received was pretty much light chocolate milk. Maybe they ran out of ice cream? I’m not sure. But I haven’t had a “super thick milkshake” quite like that before. Disappointing.. I guess NJ diners are going down hill.
