I stopped to fill up my tank and saw that my receipt had a charge of $61. However, just five minutes later, I received a text from my card company notifying me of a $149 charge. It turns out that this gas station routinely places a hold of $149 on all card transactions. This practice is completely unwarranted and unexpected. They don’t inform customers in advance and seem to have no issue with it. I will definitely not be returning.
