The Miners Son Restaurant - North Bay

My husband and I had been given some gift cards for The Minor's Son over a year ago and we had never had a chance to use them. We had never been there before and finally got to go tonight. My only regret is that I waited so long. The food was absolutely amazing. I honestly can't describe it you must try it for yourself. What was even more impressive was the service. I can honestly say I have never had such amazing service. It was a young gentleman by the name of Andrew I believe. Not only was he funny and engaging but he quickly evaluated the type of customer I was and served everything accordingly. Honestly, that type of customer service can not be taught!!

Gone a couple of times and food and service each time have been good. All meals by all guests were appreciated by all. Good food

Normally licking your plate is not acceptable in establishments like these, but it when booking an evening at the Chef's Table, throw this inhibition away as its difficult to resist!This is not your run of the mill North Bay restaurant. What you do get is an culinary experience that is unmatched anywhere in town. Yes you will pay a bit more, but this isnt a feed trough based on getting customers in and out quickly; this is an evening of culinary delights without the pretentious atmosphere. Simple, local ingredients prepared masterfully. Remember: greatness takes time, so sit back, order an app, maybe a glass of wine or local craft beer, and settle in for little while.

Make reservations to be sure, free parking at the door. Service was good and food was very good. Have been here many times for dinner and it is always consistent.

This review is late but better late than never. We went on a cold, windy day in March for my husband's birthday. I ordered the pickerel but there was none left so the waitress suggested the salmon which I ordered and it was very tasty. There weren't many people in the restaurant when we were there. I had the mac & cheese appetizer which was delicious.The big problem for us was we were freezing and my husband doesn't usually complain. The poor waitress was too! In retrospect, we should have asked to be moved to see if it was warmer in another location. Couldn't wait to get back to the car & turn up the heat! Oh yes, and service was great. All in all,I would go back but not in the winter--not for the prices you would pay to sit & freeze.
