Carl's Cafe - North Bay Village

We usually have a great time at this location, unfortunately, this time was different. The chef was amazing the ambiance was amazing but the waiter, Tom, not so much. Not sure if he is new, but his service was terrible. When we were done with dinner we them waited 20 minutes (in an empty restaurant) before he acknowledged us. We then had a problem with the check and the manager was called. I will tell you, Natalie more than made up for the bas service from Tom. Natalie was approachable, professional and understanding. She was able to assist us and get us out of the restaurant satisfied with the outcome and her resolution to our issue. Natalie is a great addition to the Benihana team at this location. Thanks to her attentiveness and swift action, we will definitely revisit this location.

My son has a shellfish allergy and I advised the waitress when she asked did anyone have an allergies. The cook proceeds to out table he was reading back the orders and not once did he mention the allergy. He proceeds to cook my shrimp for my rice along with the rest of the rice and when I asked if it was notated of the allergy he apologize and calls the waitress over and had her go to the chefs in the front to make my sons chicken fried rice. This is totally dangerous and unacceptable. I am highly disappointed with Benihana.

Had very good service and an excellent hibachi chef. The whole dinner event was excellent and the food was fantastic. Plus they recently remodeled and the restaurant looks and feels brand new.

The staff was great, the food was great and plentiful. Our chef for the night was OJ and he was not only a great chef he was also engaging and a great enthusiastic entertainer to our family on our holiday.

Ambiance and locale is excellent. World class view. Food a notch lower ie prices are higher with smaller portions. Also we did not get mushrooms in vegetables like we use to get. Chef was excellent. Waitress average. Love the 30 off for birthday. Will return for sure. The view and ambience is world class
