Shanghai - North Ayrshire

This restaurant is amazing! The food is delicious, the service is fast, and the staff is friendly. I ordered the chicken satay starter, chicken fried rice, chips, and curry sauce. The portions were generous and easily fed three adults. I will definitely be returning to Shanghai in the future.

Okay, dealing with Covid restrictions can be tough for all businesses, but our experience at this restaurant was just ridiculous. We couldn't find their menu online because the website link provided was incorrect and didn't lead to an active site. Even Google searches were unsuccessful in locating their menu. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was a line of people waiting outside and the menu posted was so faded it was barely readable. We tried to ask for a printed menu but were simply waved off. After struggling to decipher the menu, we followed their Covid guidelines and attempted to place an order over the phone. However, after numerous attempts, we were constantly greeted with a busy signal. When we finally got through, we were told to wait, but the call abruptly disconnected and we were left waiting indefinitely. Frustrated, we decided to give up and eat elsewhere. It was also disheartening to see that the restaurant only accepted cash payments, despite other nearby takeaways offering contactless options for a safer transaction during the pandemic.

I have tried almost every Chinese restaurant in the three towns, and this is definitely the best one! The food is consistently delicious, from the snack boxes to the curries. I order from here once a week and I am always satisfied. The staff are friendly and the delivery drivers are also very friendly and fast.

The food at The Shanghai is first class. I would recommend it to anyone. I especially loved the Thai prawn curry.

I’ve been using shanghai for many years now and order normally once a week (family treat) I can honestly say there food is beautiful I’ve never had a bad meal or any of our family complain about anything the staff are friendly the delivery is quick and delivery drivers are extremely friendly and pleasant I personally wouldn’t go anywhere else ! There curry and salt and chilli chips is my favourite!
