Zenexpress - Normal

From what I see this place has been closed a few weeks. Not sure if it is temporary or not. I know the regular cook had to leave. Owners need to let us know.

My boyfriend and I loved this place when we lived in Bloomington. We always got the sushi bowls and everything was so fresh. We recently moved back and have tried to order from here three days in a row during the hours posted and they’ve been closed EVERY time. We’ve looked and haven’t seen anything about them closing so it’s getting pretty frustrating.

I decided to stop by for lunch since it’s near my place of work and wow. I’m pretty basic so I called ahead and ordered a General Tso’s Chicken with white rice. A arrive and I was promptly greeted, let them know I called ahead of time and placed an order to go but asked if I could just dine in and they said that’s fine. After getting my food I picked one of the many tables in the dining area which I must say was really nice! Their interior and lighting was just perfect. Now for the food! Every time I’ve ordered General Tso’s Chicken in the past from other restaurants, the chicken is already in the sauce so it was odd at first glance that the sauce was separated in a different container from the chicken. Everything was so AMAZING! The chicken had a perfect crisp to it and tastes so good and fresh. I didn’t come across a single piece of ‘sketchy’ chicken that was chewy that I had to spit out. I say this because this does happen to me at other restaurants and I almost lose my appetite when it happens as I’m very picky when it comes to my meats. The General Tso’s sauce itself was perfect as well, definitely the best I’ve had! This is my new go-to restaurant! I could not be happier, excellent food, great prices, beautiful interior, a very clean nice restroom and roomy dining room. 5/5!

I am SO upset about this establishment permanently closing. My friends and I were all obsessed with the sushi bowls and ordered every weekend maybe even twice a week). The food was so good and we still think about it We miss you zen express!! :
