Saann Mat - Norheimsund

The food at Sann Mat was the highlight of my trip. It was delicious, fresh, and high quality. I regret not dining there earlier in my stay, as I missed out on trying more of their dishes. It was a big mistake to wait until my last night to visit this restaurant.

Today, I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend and we both ordered the curry dish. The prices were reasonable at around 129kr per portion. The quality of the food was decent, but not exceptional. The overall meal was satisfactory. When I arrived, the coffee machine was not working and the staff member I interacted with did not speak Norwegian or English very well. Despite this, the restaurant seemed authentic and a good option for Thai cuisine.

Their Pad Thai left much to be desired. It was overly salty and oily. The sodium in this dish could possibly exceed an average person’s daily sodium intake. It was so horrible I could not finish even half of the dish even though I was very hungry. This Pad Thai dish wouldn’t survive in Thailand. Try the green chicken curry instead, that was at least edible.

I was craving some Asian cuisine so I ordered a tom kha kai (seen in the picture) and green curry, both of which were delicious. The Thai food here is truly authentic. I was a little hesitant at first because I didn't see any other reviews from Asian customers, but once I noticed the spiciness in the kitchen, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed!
