It was a very unexpected discovery. walked the place a dozen paints, but never knew about the garden inside. a thing that a visitor should know, they get their cake in the filiale near the beginning then bring them with them in the interior garden / kitchen there they can order their coffee and a meal
Pure joy simply translated into pure joy is really worth their time and offers exactly what the name says. when they look through the front window of the small load, it looks inconspicuous. the small baked pieces seem pretty tasty, but it seems as if they could only take them away. they are wrong and would make a big mistake if they 't enter from this ground! they must enter the courtyard to find a cozy location to sit in the summer (a few tables and sunshades) and for winter stays they also have a room to warm them feeding during eating the beautiful bake. they are really eyecatchers and taste very good (although a bit pricy)! the personal is friendly and helps them to find the right pastries for them if they cannot decide which ones they take. some might think that the load doesn't look special, but I think it's all right. So why not her own opinion? a high recommendation to visit this place.
The staff is really nice and patient and speak English (which is rare in German shops). The pastries look amazing but when you ask for the flavours, they turn out to be quite regular. The price of the pastries are maybe high, but in comparison...with other pastry shops like Törtchen Törtchen and Pure Passion where you pay the same, you get bigger pastries for your money. However, it's the only pasty shop where you can find something other than standard pastry, so that's very nice. But when you have high pastry standards like us (as pastry chefs), it turns out to be average among special patisserie. The macarons look good, but we didn't taste them. The chocolates are all similar with different flavours and colours. The filling/flavour doesn't match the color, so it was hard to remember the purple one wasn't the lavender flavour. However, again in Düsseldorf it's the only shop where you can find chocolates with special flavours, like vervein, lavender, rose and tonca beans. If you really want good looking and wonderful tasting pastry, we prefer Törtchen Törtchen, which you can find in Düsseldorf on Carlplatz.
Honestly I don't know why this place has so many great reviews. I went with my friends during the winter months and the place was so quiet and clinical we...
