This place is fantastic! We were recommended it by our hotel as it was just around the corner, and we loved it, we went back 3 times! They stay open practically all night - except Sundays, they close, and serve great drinks. their schnaaps was delicious. We didn't eat here but the food looked lovely. really worth a visit
I went to Cafe de Paris primarily as I speak French, and my German is pretty limited. Of course I was the only one there who did speak French, but other than chef, bartender and server I had the place to myself. I ordered a bruschetta as a starter and was pleasantly impressed. The schnitzel was very good and not smothered in a sauce as I had experienced elsewhere. The accompanying salad was really good. Surprising that it the restaurant didn't have clientele. Only downside was the place had a lingering tobacco odour, even though smoking was not permitted apparently.
We visited Cafe de Paris while in Dusseldorf! we absolutely loved it, the cocktails are out of this world!!! I had the pasta and it was amazing! not overcooked, just perfectly seasoned!Loved the atmosphere there. It opens at 7pm and stays open I think sometimes even until 7am! people stop by all night long!If you get a chance go visit this great place!
This is a hole in the wall, that is a bit roomier on the inside. Interesting wooden furnishings, dimly lit area, and a pretty decent cocktail menu.I tried the Flying Scotsman, which had gin and cucumbers, I think... or maybe not. It was refreshing and delicious - but on the watery side. One drink (Martini glass size) was 10 EUR - for me, I'm used to finding more bang for the buck, for example, at the Bar Alexandra. The atmosphere was a bit drab for my liking, but if there's nothing else open, I would not have a problem going back.
