I have had the Jerk Chicken plate at LJC at least 15 times, and I've never been disappointed. The portions are generous, the flavor is genuine, and the prices are very reasonable. It's a family-owned and operated establishment. Make sure to wear pants with a stretchy waistband, because you won't want to leave any food behind. You can expect to leave feeling satisfied and with a smile on your face.
If you're looking for genuine Caribbean cuisine, this restaurant falls short. The flavors are sadly lacking. I regret spending my money on a meal that I was hungry for but ultimately didn't enjoy.
Coming from Miami this is the best, most authentic Jamaican food I’ve had in the city. Huge portions, and the stew chicken and rice had us shaking our heads it was so unbelievably good. The side of cabbage and rice were amazing as well! All for $13 a plate.
I will probably avoid this place. The food was not up to standard. The oxtail was hard, the rice was not cooked all the way, and the aftermath of eating left me and my wife feeling uneasy.
