The prime rib was tender, juicy, and cooked medium rare, just as we requested. However, that’s where the experience took a downturn. The side dish pasta and the red meat sauce, as well as the pasta with the veal, were disappointing. The sauce had a strange aftertaste, reminiscent of raisins or prunes, lacking the expected flavors of garlic and basil. It was like going to a Mexican restaurant and finding terrible salsa. Additionally, the pasta wasn't drained properly, leaving a pool of water at the bottom of the dish, which caused the sauce to slide right off. We might return for the pizza, but that's about it. The service was attentive and friendly, but great service doesn’t make up for subpar food, especially when you’re spending nearly $200 for four people.
I absolutely love this place! The pizza is fantastic, the food is wonderful, and the portions are generous. It can get quite busy, and they might be a bit short-staffed at times, so be prepared to wait a little. Trust me, the food is definitely worth it! Also, the bread they serve while you're waiting for your meal is incredibly delicious—so good that you might find yourself snacking on it instead of saving room for your main dish!
Had lunch there today. Had the senior special ravioli with meat sauce, and a small pizza. Both were delicious. Rose our waitress was a crack up. We'll be back.
This place is just ok. The pizza was very tasty. Our table ordered a chicken and spinach pizza. They were out of spinach. There is literally a grocery store about 2 blocks away down 6th Street so it blows my mind how a restaurant can be out of anything unless it is some specialty item. Tons of cheese and great flavor on the pizza. We substituted ham for the unavailable spinach. We also had a shrimp pasta dish, the veal parmigiana, and a prime rib plate. The proteins were all done well and tasty. The prime rib was tender, juicy, and medium rare just as ordered. Then came the side dish pasta and red meat sauce and the pasta with the veal. That's where this place falls flat on it's face. The sauce is horrific. Had a weird after taste and almost the flavor of raisins or prunes. No flavor of garlic or basil and not good at all. That's like going to a Mexican restaurant and they have bad salsa. They also did not drain the pasta well so the bottom of the dish was just swimming in water and the sauce would not even stick to the pasta. We may go back again for the pizza but that is about it. Service was attentive and friendly but if the food isn't great it doesn't really matter especially when you spend nearly $200 for 4 people.
I love this place! The lasagna is awesome! I love the bar next door (they do business together). Friday nights were Karaoke nights, the atmosphere is friendly and fun and the beer is coooooold! Bands play at times, too. Check it out!
