I started with a prawn dish that featured a chickpea purée and a few roasted chickpeas, which paired beautifully. The prawns were also delicious; it was a great choice! For the main course, I ordered a sirloin steak. When I requested it medium, the rather curt blonde waitress informed me that they cook it either rare or well done, which wasn't particularly helpful. Nonetheless, I chose the rare option, and it turned out to be just to my liking. Overall, it was a lovely dinner, though the unfriendly service from the waitress slightly dampened our experience.
Rickys, a beloved establishment in Noosa, boasts stunning waterfront views. The service is professional and attentive, always striving to impress. The wine selection is extensive and rivals those found in top restaurants in Melbourne and Sydney, carefully curated to complement the menu. While the food is quite pleasant, it falls short of expectations given the price; it lacks the creative flair and excitement one might anticipate from a fine dining experience and feels somewhat ordinary. Nevertheless, it's still a fantastic venue.
The food was by far the best I’ve had in Noosa, showcasing local produce to perfection. It was certainly worth the rare date night I got with my husband. For our appetizers, we chose several tapas-style dishes: - Local Sea Scallop Tartare with Potato Crisp, Yuzu, Kosho, and Avocado - Blue Swimmer Crab served with Chilli Sauce on Macadamia Brioche - School Prawns accompanied by Black Sesame and Bonito Chive Mayonnaise - Grilled Sheep's Milk Halloumi paired with Zucchini Piccalilli and Basil - Freshly Shucked Coffin Bay Oysters with Lemon and Grapefruit Bush Pepper Vinaigrette For our main courses, we ordered: - Cape Grim Pasture Fed Eye Fillet with Confit Parsnips, Mushroom Purée, and Parsnip Chips - Crispy Skinned Black Cobie, served with Buttermilk Sauce, Charred Cucumber, and Nutty Barley Grains We also had some side dishes: - Chips with Chilli Salt Aioli - Noosa Red Tomatoes with Basil and Goat Curd For dessert, we indulged in: - Dark Chocolate Parfait with Cherry Sorbet, Chocolate Mousse, and Caramel Crisps The waiter’s first question after taking our order was whether we were from Melbourne, which we confirmed. Admittedly, we may have over-indulged, as the portions were generous—my waistband definitely needed some loosening! But I didn’t come to such a renowned establishment just to try a single dish. The service was exceptional, earning a perfect 10/10 for being friendly and professional. We didn’t need to ask for a thing. This is dining at its finest, worth every penny, and the food is unforgettable. **My 3 Key Recommendations:** • If you're near Hastings Street, take a ferry to enhance the experience. • While they are kid-friendly, this is not a place for a rushed meal. • If you and your partner have different wine preferences, don’t worry—they offer half bottles and have an excellent wine selection.
Dined at Rickys as it was a special occasion. Have stayed in Noosa and have always wanted to try out places along the river. Set menu or a la carte available. <br/ All of the food was really delicious. I wasn’t too much of a fan of the bisque in the Moreton Bay bug, local white fish, squid scallops, S.A. mussels, potato, fennel, bisque as it was just a very strong flavour. Probably just an individual preference. The eye fillet was absolutely amazing and cooked so well, so too for the crab spaghettini. <br/ service was faultless. No issues. Staff very professional and are happy to help with any queries.
Booked mostly for the location and views but as it was dark we didn’t get to see anything. It didn’t affect our visit as everything was perfect. <br/ <br/ We had the short rib And the crab pasta for entree, both were delicious but the short rib was outstanding. Beautiful combination of flavours and perfectly cooked rib made it a dish to remember. <br/ <br/ We then had the lamb 2 ways and the whole fish which was baby barramundi wow the fish was amazing, again they packed so many wonderful flavours into the fish and it was cooked exactly how we like it. The lamb was also a winner. <br/ <br/ Finished our night sharing a wonderful passionfruit soufflé which was again outstanding. <br/ <br/ Well done Rickys, we will return when we are again in town, this time for lunch!
