They are expanding their menu and offer excellent Mexican food. There's plenty of space for large groups or just a few diners. Plus, the parking is great, which is a rarity in Nogales, AZ.
The interior is spacious, with plenty of distance between tables. There's a sizable bar that offers a respectable selection of alcoholic beverages. However, we did have to specify which type of whiskey we wanted, and it took a couple of tries to order Grand Marnier. Our server even needed to fetch another staff member who was more comfortable with English for the liquor orders. The rest of us opted for beers—Negro Modelo on draft and Pacifico in bottles. We were served chips accompanied by two types of salsa: one was more pureed, and the other was a chunkier pico de gallo. The server claimed the pico was spicier, but we all agreed that the pureed salsa had more heat, unless you specifically added jalapeños from the pico to your chip. Also, just an interesting note—the pico contained soy sauce. I went for the tortilla soup and carne asada. Not the most daring choices, but these dishes usually deliver. The tortilla soup was just okay—pretty salty and in need of the salsa from the chips for some flavor—but it did have good-sized chunks of avocado, which I really appreciated. The carne asada was fairly average and a bit tough. Overall, it was decent food in a nice setting at reasonable prices. And if you're into that kind of scene, they seem to host some lively events; I even saw a foam party advertised.
