Charis Seafoods

Charis Seafoods is a bit of a tourist favourite, and we joined the crowd by bringing some friends their for their first visit involving some beach play, fish and chips, and watching the afternoon pelican feeding.<br/ <br/ Food wise we shared 2 family feast packs, $69.90 each:<br/ 4 fish<br/ 4 potato scallop<br/ 12 calamari<br/ 4 seafood stick<br/ 4 prawn cutlets<br/ 4 pineapple fritters<br/ medium chips<br/ large Greek salad<br/ 2 sauces<br/ 1.25L soft drink 4 cups<br/ <br/ The fish pieces were quite large, and batter on fried items was mostly pretty good in staying crunchy. The fish itself could probably do with a bit more seasoning might have helped if we realised there was a whole stack of salt pepper sachets included <br/ <br/ As we were there on a public holiday there was an additional 10% surcharge. This was also the reason given for not allowing salad substitutions (wanted to change one of the Greek salads to coleslaw same size price). Overall still reasonable value though as we didn't manage to finish all the food.<br/ <br/ Finished lunch in time to watch the pelican feeding frenzy that happens at 1:30pm each day those birds don't need a clock to know when free food is on offer!

Nice place to take a family or friends overseas to show pelican feeding. Fish and chips were pretty fresh. Outdoor sitting with lots of birds waiting you to feed them (my suggestion, please don’t feed them, they would annoy you for asking more food). Place is always busy in the weekend.

Super busy restaurant with wonderful location, offering freshly caught seafood. It’s a nice choice for family or friends gathering during the weekends, enjoy the sunshine, as well as the tasty seafood

Large variety of fish and chips with options of local fresh. I like how’s there is the option to purchase fresh prawns to eat. There are meal deals available. Going on a Sunday lunch it is very difficult to get a car park.

Really delicious thick cut chips and fresh seafood! Always really busy because of the great location on the water. Staff are nice but sometimes a bit rushed and not focused so much on customers. Recommend getting things separately because the combos don’t make a difference, and the sides are delicious and great value too (calamari, potato scallops etc. Warning that they don’t salt they’re food, but give you facility’s to do so (including chicken salt and vinegar Definitely recommend Charis because of the fresh seafood, and good quality chips.
