Unfortunately, I was very disappointed that the chorizo lacked both heat and salt. While I can do without the fat, a good chorizo needs those flavors to really shine. The prices were on the higher side, and the food came out quickly, but there were only two or three servers working, which meant the service was lacking.
This is far superior to any Mexican food we’ve had in Missouri. I give it five stars!
If you haven't been to this restaurant yet, you definitely should! The food is delicious and very affordable. I have to mention that the shrimp quesadillas are my absolute favorite—they always leave me with enough for at least two meals. The roasted beans and rice are the best I've ever had. The atmosphere is fantastic, especially with live music on the weekends. What more can I say? It's simply wonderful! I have a family of five, and we’re able to enjoy a hearty meal for about $40, including drinks.
I ate at the new one, on Republic in Springfield, not the one in Nixa, but being the same owners, I would assume the food to be the same. I was very disappointed that my chorizo was not spicy. Or salty. Or greasy. Ok, the grease I can live without but the heat and the salt are integral to good chorizo. It was reasonably priced, and pretty quick, but there were only 2 or 3 servers on, so there wasn't much in the way of service.
Way better than any Mexican food we have had any where in Missouri. 5 stars!
