Owner/proprietor was very welcoming, but the staff include only himself, his wife and mother (the cooks) so service was slow. Prices were moderate, and the food tasty and plentiful but not outstanding. I did appreciate, however, inclusion of a delicious salad, something too often neglected elsewhere
I had to order a bowl of phô when I saw it on the menu. Even though the service is so but I did not care at all, I was happy to wait. The end result was extremely satisfying. Delicious.
Very authentic vietnamies food Been here once every year and it is worth the drive Love the nems.
I am Vietnamese and I recommend this place if you want to taste something really "Vietnam". Good place, nice decoration, warm and friendly service! You have to wait about 20 to 30 minutes to have your command but it's worth to waiting.
I was certainly expecting better food than I had, after reading the reviews. The "Imperial" rolls (fried nem wrapped in lettuce) were mediocre, and had an odd taste. They reminded me of Chinese rolls with canned bamboo shoots, which give a weird, almost metallic taste. I had gambas with mixed vegetables; the dish was "blah," and lacked flavor though the vegetables were plentiful and fresh. We skipped dessert; the coffee was very good. The food here is better than most Chinese/Vietnamese food in Provence, which is rarely worth eating. But after eating in San Francisco and Vietnam, I think that "Hanoi" has a way to go. It is a decent place for a Provencal town, but nothing more.As everyone said, the service is friendly and helpful. The two course lunch meal took nearly two hours. The server asked if we found the wait too long, and after I replied "yes," he explained that everything was prepared fresh. But still, two hours is too long.
