We did not eat there so I can not review the food but what I can review is the behavior of the waiter, super rude! We found a table for two and decided to sit there and with Covid situation I tried to pull the table a little bit further from the other one next to us, as it was like 30 cm close. The waiter came and pushed the table back furious, claiming I couldn't do that because that way he would have no space to walk through! Apparently Covid distancing was not an issue for this place thus we decided to go somewhere else.
Food was average but service was one of the worst I have ever came across. Spent 1 hour waiting for the beef tartar and another hour on my salmon ravioli. Was a horrible experience.
Yum. We had dinner here after passing by on our way back to the hotel this afternoon. We made reservations for 7:30pm, which by French standards was early and so didn't really need reservations. What caught our attention were all the lunch patrons having the seafood platters! We got a table outside, and had a bottle of white wine to start. We ordered the plateau royal, which consisted of clams, oysters, shrimp, whelks, snails and lobster. The server said that's probably enough food, and suggested waiting before ordering dinner. Wow! The plateau came out with sparklers!! What an experience. It took us awhile to get through all of the seafood... We decided on getting some dinner after going through the platter. My husband got the Niçoise salad and I got the seafood paella. He said the salad was really good. My paella as delicious! There was so much seafood. And the flavor was wonderful! I would definitely repeat the meal here. Again, I was not sure why this place got so many negative reviews (they were higher on Google reviews). Service was good. Located in Vieux Nice, the area may seem a bit touristy. The restaurant across the ways had a live band, which made for a fun atmosphere. Also, the whole strip got a bit livelier as all of the Monico Grand Prix folks were heading back to Nice.
Should 've checked the reviews first, that was our mistake. First off, the service and attitude from the waiters were horrible. Simply just rude. Food was below average. They brought out bread but no butter. We ordered sardines as our starter and two entrees. They brought everything out all at once. We were surprised and made a comment. The server said did you request it as a starter? Umm really? It 's on the menu as a starter and that 's just common sense??? Maybe it 's a French thing idk. I ordered grilled octopus for my entree and I 'm 1000% sure it was cooked in advance and just warmed up upon serving. Lost my appetite bc it was cold. Even the fries were cold. Anyways, lessons were learned always read reviews before sit down.
