Cote Sud - Nice

Honesty if your scrolling through the reviews of this restaurant and thinking no because some negative reviews in the past then stop and think again. This business has clearly had its problems in the past but these are certainly the thing on the past and...they've really turned it around. I dined here on a couple of nights last week when I was staying in Nice and was visiting for the formula 1 and honestly if your looking for a great value low priced dinner in Nice which can be hard to come by then this is the place. For starters the food was wonderful, I had a pizza and chocolate roll which both offered superb value for money. The menu offers of on 2 courses for £12 or 2 courses for £15 depending on which meal you went for, where else can you get a decent quality 2 course meal in Nice for that sort of money. Secondly the customer service was superb. I had a very friendly and very nice gentleman waiter, cant remember his name which is a real shame because he deserves a lot of credit. He was so friendly, and provided exceptional customer service. The location is great as well, located on one of the main Nice high streets so you can eat out side and get a real buzz of the life in Nice. Finally my 2 course meal and a drink cost me just over £15. Where else can you get that in Nice. Defiantly would go back and thoroughly reccomend it to anyone else as well.

Really good 3 courses for 15 euro. Not michelin star certainly but very good value in an otherwise expensive city. Staff were very friendly and food was good. Would definitely go back.

We wandered the restaurant square and finally settled on Cote Sud. Menu looked good, large variety of pizza, pasta, fish, etc. We had calamari to start and then amongst the four of us we ordered pizza's, grilled prawns, and pasta. The pasta is served in...a very large bowl, portions were on the large size, good value for money. The only negative is we sat in the outside, covered area with temporary walls that caused two problems: a propane heater near us that made it too hot (it wasn't that cold outside), and the covered sitting area doesn't allow the 2nd hand smoke to dissipate from the smokers. Enjoyed the meal, food was good, service was good.

My wife and I enjoyed a very wonderful meal. I had the fish soup and she had a wood stove cooked pizza. Both were very delicious. The location is wonderful and we sat in the sidewalk patio amongst the others in the market area. The...waiter and servers were very pleasant and helpful.

A lovely restaurant with very good food. It was a shame it was spoiled by the service. It seems that once they've got you sitting with your meal they seem to forget about you. We had to ask for our dessert menu after sitting with...our empty dinner plates for 20 mins. Possibly not enough waiters for the size of restaurant. Would have liked to have gone back to see if we just caught them on a bad day as the food could not be faulted. Unfortunately we never managed to do that.
