Shaw Cafe & Wine Bar

I had a fantastic experience dining at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were very reasonable, making it a great value. What really stood out was the exceptional staff; they were incredibly attentive and made our visit memorable. The restaurant's ambiance with its lovely decor added to the overall enjoyment of the evening.I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Niagara-on-the-Lake area. It's a wonderful place to enjoy great food and top-notch service.

Although this restaurant has a great appearance, the quality of the food is very poor. We ordered three burgers, pasta, a chicken wrap, and fish and chips. All three burgers were extremely dry, as shown in the pictures. The pasta was just okay, but at least it was better than the $25 burgers. If you're craving a wrap for lunch, McDonald's has a better version.

This restaurant was the most beautiful one I visited in the area. However, the blonde, tall staff member was unkind. She didn't come to our table until I asked for the receipt, and when she finally did, she didn't wait for my response before asking if I needed a receipt. I am not fluent in English and am not familiar with Canadian culture as I am an international visitor. Despite this, I felt that her behavior was rude. Throughout my trip in Canada, no one else has been rude except for her. I question why the employer would hire someone like her.

I was hesitant to visit this restaurant at first due to some of the reviews I had read. Maybe it was just a bad day for the staff or the restaurant was busier than usual, I'm not sure. However, my experience turned out to be quite pleasant. The service was excellent, our server was attentive, timed everything perfectly, and was very friendly. The food exceeded my expectations - I tried the house burger and my family ordered chicken wings, fish and chips, and lasagna. All dishes were delicious and I would recommend them. The desserts were also surprisingly good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, the building and surrounding area were aesthetically pleasing. The quiet surroundings of NOTL added to the overall enjoyable experience.

We find it hard to choose another spot when this one has delivered such a fine experience each summer. To share a plate of mussels and some good wine at a classic cafe table late in the evening, or a sandwich on the patio at lunch, is something we now look forward to, along with the festival plays!
