Corks Restaurant - Niagara On The Lake

Came here on a Monday. There was plenty of space on the porch but they seated us all the way in the back. We waited for 15 minutes and they didn’t serve us. We had three kids. Not sure if it’s cause we weren’t white or the staff didn’t care. Not worth walking in.

We visited Corks twice during our stay in the area. Once for a glass of wine at the inside bar and once for dinner on the patio. Both experiences were great service was great. For dinner we shared an appetizer and order of Pork Schnitzel. Well prepared.

We dropped in here for lunch. The view was awesome and the food was good. I was a bit apprehensive as there were mixed reviews for this establishment but I have to say our meals were just fine. Wasn't too expensive either!

It’s all about food quality and a warm welcome for me For starters we were welcomed at the patio entrance where the server told us we couldn’t sit there because we had a stroller so we went inside where she tried to sit us at a high top table that’s for adults only “ the high chair doesn’t reach here she said “ so we told her that won’t work; ok I guess you can sit here she replied. Horrible welcoming!! The food was the worst I’ve experienced in a while. Crab cakes $18 made with artificial crab When cooked was like eating mush!! Calamari was undercooked and still had inner lining attached so it was nice having a transparent worm like piece of calamari being pulled out of the breading!! Absolutely disgusting Spring rolls were store bought with a store bought sweet chili sauce Fish and chips 1 pc was fine the other piece was like it was thawed in the microwave then deep fried fully cooked Totally hard and in edible Store bought cold fries which were the worst quality I’ve ever had. We ate most of it as we were very hungry and told our server George it was horrendous He was the only bright spot to this visit $89 dollars 18% tip for 3 apps and 2 pc fish and chips Living very close by we have walked by this place for a year and now we know , like most places in NOTL So far we’ve haven’t come across a restaurant that takes pride in their cuisine

The worst meal we have ever had there. We have been several times in past years, but will never return. The Yager Schnitzel was over cooked and tasteless. The salad was wilted and the potatoes looked like last nights. And the portion was shameful. My Maple Glazed Salmon was dry and I had to ask the server if they forgot the Maple glaze. Rice was tasteless and salad from a bag and definitely not fresh. Our beer was refreshing but overall a pretty sad experience for $80.00 plus tip.
